I have downloaded particle data for snapshot 99 in TNG300-1. For some subhalos I can't load gas particle data. Also When I tried web API for those subhalos, There is no track of subhalo gas mass for higher snapshots. Is there way I could get the gas particles data? Thank you
Best,
Hasitha

Dear Hasitha,
Can you provide a specific example? (Subhalo ID)
It is likely that there is simply no gas in the subhalo. Not all subhalos have gas.

Hi Dylan,
For ex. subhalo id 1572823 in snapshot 99. It shows gas mass before snapshot 60. Thank you

Dear Hasitha,
That subhalo has no gas at z=0. It is a central, but at snapshot 89 and prior it was a satellite. If I had to guess, then, I would think it's a splashback galaxy whose gas has been completed stripped due to its prior interaction with a massive host.
